Another Sunday Afternoon

What a day! The sun is shining, my children and husband are snoring, and I am surfing the web! Sunday afternoon at its best! I used to love to nap on Sundays. We would come home from church, cook a small lunch, clean up, put the baby to bed, and hit the couch for an afternoon siesta! Now, with number 2 baby girl, not so much! Sundays now consist of a rush to heat a bottle before my little chubby girl fills my house with her hungry screeches, getting my number 1 baby girl a snack before she withers away to nothing, feeding myself and hubby, and hoping they will all nap so I can have a moment's peace. And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way! I love my chubby infant, and I look forward to the few peaceful moments watching her guzzle her "mommy milk", as my older daughter calls the breast milk I pump. I love watching my oldest scarf down chicken nuggets and telling me what a good cook I am! And I love how my husband wakes himself up snoring asking me why I am not also napping. I look around the house now as they sleep, and think that my job is done. I breath a sigh of relief that they are all so happy that they can simply rest and have no worries in the world. And, after all, snoring means nobody needs fed!

More than hot dogs for lunch!

Do you have a hard time getting your little one to eat more than just hot dogs and chicken nuggets? I do! She will eat 4 chicken nuggets and get full, and ignore the fruit! I finally found something that she likes! I found Oscar Mayer Lunchables Jr. They have 3 little spots with things like turkey breast, cheese, apple sauce, and crackers! They come 2 to a pack and are so cheap! They even make them with chicken nuggets! I love them because they all have 3 different items in the pack for the child. The best are the apple dippers! I have such a hard time getting my little girl to eat a variety of food, and this solves the problem. I will be stocking my fridge with these!

Own Your Title of Mom

Are you someone's sister? Are you someone's friend? How about someone's daughter? I am all of those things! But most importantly, I am someone's mom. 2 someones as matter of fact. 2 little girls that deserve the best mom I can be, or better! Many mothers over the years have tried to be a friend to their child. Many have tried to be like a sister. But being a mom is the greatest gift God can give us, so why try being anything else to your children. Being a mom is giving your whole self. Being a mom is giving unconditional love. Having patience and strength, having courage and hope, make a mom a mom. Whether it be boys or girls, your job is to train your children. You have to make tough decisions and stand by them. You have to make the decisions and just wait to see if it worked. You have to set the guidelines and have the strength to stay by them. You must be brave and give them the experiences they need to grow, even if it means sleep away camp or crossing the street without you. Then you hope. You hope and you pray that you did it right, that you gave them what they need to do it, to live the life they are capable of. You are not their friend, you are their mom. You are not their sister, you are their mom. It is a privilege to be a mom. Own the title of MOM!
